About Us
Hi, I’m Venika
I’m a high school student with a deep interest in the biology of cancer, and the science of how our cells work, and when they don’t. What drew me into the field was both the complexity and how incredibly interesting it is once you understand it.
A lot of cancer biology is locked away behind dense textbooks and research papers swimming with jargon, both of which can seem overwhelming at first.
This site is my small way of trying to change that. I take complex ideas like signaling pathways, tumor mechanisms, and new research, and break them down into explanations that are clear, concise, and actually enjoyable to read without losing any necessary details.
My goal is to hopefully make cancer biology more accessible, and maybe even spark curiosity in someone who would have never thought they would be interested in the field.
Outside of science, I enjoy reading investigative journalism, long-distance running, and exploring new ideas across many different fields. I like learning about things most people don’t usually dive into, whether that be niche scientific topics ( quasi stars! ) or unusual perspectives about the world.
If this site helps you learn something new, or see biology or the world in a different way, then it’s doing what I hoped it would 🙂
